What is Baal Peor?
Baalpeor was the Moabite deity that Israel joined itself to at Shittim, worshipping through the sacrifices of the Moabites, which kindled the LORD's anger (Numbers 25:3). Deuteronomy 4:3 recalls that the LORD destroyed all the men who followed Baalpeor.
