Bashan

What is Bashan?
Bashan was the kingdom of Og, a land east of Jordan that Moses gave to the half tribe of Manasseh after Israel defeated Og in battle at Edrei, and it was called the land of giants (Numbers 21:33, Deuteronomy 3:13). Its fertile herds became a byword: the psalmist is beset by 'strong bulls of Bashan' (Psalms 22:12), and Ezekiel names 'fatlings of Bashan' (Ezekiel 39:18).
