What is Makkedah?
Makkedah was a Canaanite city taken during Joshua's southern campaign. Its five allied kings fled and hid in a cave at Makkedah (Joshua 10:16), and Joshua later captured the city and struck it with the sword (Joshua 10:28). It is listed among the cities of Judah in Joshua 15:41.
