He abode firmly established in the wickedness and pride of his heart.
And as iron is called firm—even as Daniel beheld it concerning his kingdom—he turned against the peoples and countries in his region.
He abode steadfastly in evil, in all his slothfulness, and in the vexing of people.
He utterly destroyed that which was spoken of aforetime, and he consumed the substance of others.
For he was diligent in evil, as his father the Devil who strengthened his resolve, and he destroyed what remained with his host.
He said, "Mine era hath become as the era of the Sun"—yet he knew not that the LORD was his Creator.
And in his heart, he thought that the Sun had its origin from him.
He rose up in might; he encamped in the portion of the Tribe of Zebulun and began a battle array in Macedonia. He received his provision from Samaria, and they brought him gifts from Samaria.
He encamped in the regions of the wanderers and reached as far as Sidon; he laid a tribute upon Achaia and lifted up his pride as far as the flowing sea. He returned and sent messengers as far as the Sea of India.
And likewise, he lifted up his pride even unto Heaven.
He abode steadfastly in pride and evil, yet he would not humble his own self.
His path led toward darkness, toward slippery ways, toward transgression and pride; toward the shedding of blood and tribulation.
All his works were that which the LORD hateth. He did according to the robbery and iniquity taught by his teacher, the Devil; he made the fatherless to weep and shewed no kindness unto the poor.
He defeated and destroyed the kings of peoples by his dominion.
He ruled over the chiefs of enemies and a multitude of peoples, and he laid tribute upon them according to his own desire.
Even though he destroyed, he ceased not; there was no man from whom he took not substance, from the sea of Tarshish unto the sea of Jericho.
He would bow unto idols; he would eat that which was found dead, and blood, and that which was slain by the sword and sacrificed unto idols. All his work was without justice, for he had no justice. Forasmuch as he terrified the people under his dominion, he would lay tribute upon them even as he pleased.
Forasmuch as he did all that he desired, there was no fear of the LORD before him; he dwelt in wickedness before the LORD who created him.
He did not after the manner of his Creator; and even as he wrought evil unto his fellow when he was wroth and seized him, the LORD shall likewise repay him with travail.
As the LORD hath said: "I shall take vengeance and destroy the transgressors who walk not by My Commandment, that I might blot out the remembrance of their name from this world." Even as He destroyed the peoples that went before him, the LORD shall take vengeance and destroy him when the season of destruction cometh.
And even as evil men wrought evil things, they shall receive their travail.
But as the LORD hath commanded, good works shall follow those who perform good works.
For even as Joshua destroyed the five kings of the Canaanites in a cave in one day, and as he made the sun to stand still in Gibeon by his prayer that he might destroy their hosts—and the sun stood in the midst of heaven until he destroyed the hosts of the Hivites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hittites, and Jebusites—and even as he slew twenty thousand men at one time, and as he bound them, setting his foot upon their necks, and as he slew them in the cave by the spear and set a great stone over them—
tribulation like unto this shall find all men who grieve the LORD with their evil works.
