O thou frail man, who art not God—wherefore art thou proud? Thou who art seen this day as a man art earthly ashes on the morrow, and thou shalt be naught but worms in thy grave.
For thy teacher is the Devil, who bringeth the travail of iniquity back upon himself because he led astray our father, Adam. Sheol shall find thee, even as it findeth all who commit thy transgressions.
Because he strengthened his pride and made himself haughty, he refused to bow before Adam, whom the Creator had made.
Thou also hast refused to bow before thy Creator, the LORD, even as thy teacher the Devil did.
Like thine ancestors before thee, who knew not their Creator in worship and went toward Gehenna, thou also shalt go toward Gehenna.
Even as He took vengeance and destroyed them because of the evil works they wrought in this world, and as they descended into Gehenna—
thou also shalt descend into Gehenna even as they.
Forasmuch as thou hast kindled His anger and neglected to worship the LORD who gave thee dominion over the five kingdoms, thinkest thou that thou shalt escape from the dominion of the LORD?
Thou doest not according to His Will, and therefore He examineth thee. But if thou doest good works in this world, the LORD will accomplish all thy work for thee; He will bring to pass and bless all the work thou takest into thine hands. He will make subject unto thee thine ancient enemies and thy present adversaries.
Thou shalt be at peace in thy coming and thy going, in the children born of thy nature, in thy flocks, in thy substance, and in all work whereunto thou settest thine hand and all the thoughts of thy heart. Forasmuch as dominion hath been given unto thee from the LORD, all that thou workest, plantest, or pullest down shall be ordained for thee.
Howbeit, if thou wilt not hear the Word of the LORD nor walk steadfastly in His Law—like unto the malefactors who went before thee, who worshipped not the LORD as is meet and believed not in His righteous Law—there is nothing whereby thou shalt escape the dominion of the LORD, for the judgment of the LORD is Truth.
All is wholly revealed before Him; nothing is hidden from His sight.
He is the one who taketh away the dominion of kings and overturneth the thrones of the mighty.
He is the one who raiseth up those that were brought low and lifteth up those that have fallen.
He is the one who looseth the bound and raiseth the dead. Forasmuch as the dew of pardon is found with Him, in the season He chooseth, He shall raise those whose flesh was destroyed and rotten and turned unto dust.
Having raised and judged those who wrought evil, He shall take them toward Gehenna, for they have grieved Him.
For they are those who destroyed the Ordinance and the Law of the LORD, and He will destroy their children from this world.
Forasmuch as the work of the godly is more difficult than the work of transgressors, transgressors love not to walk by the counsel of the righteous.
As the Heavens are far from the Earth, so is the work of the righteous far from the work of evil men.
The work of transgressors is robbery, iniquity, adultery, wickedness, covetousness, and treachery; it is being drunken with wickedness and stealing the substance of another.
It is the hastening toward the shedding of blood and toward vain destruction; it is the making of the fatherless to weep. It is the eating of blood, of beasts found dead, and of the flesh of camels and swine. It is going unto a woman in her uncleanness before she be purified, or unto a woman in her travail of birth.
All this is the work of transgressors; it is the snare of Satan, a broad and prepared way that leadeth toward the everlasting Gehenna and toward Sheol.
But the way of the righteous is altogether narrow; it leadeth toward welfare, innocence, humility, concord, and love. It calleth for prayer, fasting, and purity of the flesh; keeping from that which is vain, from eating that which is strangled or found dead, and from adultery with the wife of another.
They keep from that which was not commanded by the Law, from eating abominable food, and from all hateful works that the LORD loveth not, for transgressors do all these things.
As for the righteous, they keep far from all works that the LORD loveth not.
He loveth them and shall keep them from all their tribulation, guarding them as a precious trust.
For they keep His Ordinance and His Law and all that He loveth; but Satan ruleth the transgressors.
