Stephen

STEE-v`n

Who is Stephen?

Stephen was one of the seven men chosen to serve the early Jerusalem church, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost who did great wonders and miracles among the people (Acts 6:5, Acts 6:8). Falsely accused and dragged before the council, he was stoned to death after declaring that he saw the heavens opened and the Son of man standing at the right hand of God, becoming the first Christian martyr (Acts 7:59), his death witnessed by Saul (Acts 22:20).
