Mattithiah

Who is Mattithiah?

Mattithiah is the name of several Levites in the Old Testament. One was a Levite, the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, who held the office over the baked offerings prepared in the pans (1 Chronicles 9:31). Another was among the Levites appointed as musicians when the ark was brought up, playing harps on the Sheminith (1 Chronicles 15:18, 1 Chronicles 15:21), and Mattithiah also stood beside Ezra as he read the law to the people (Nehemiah 8:4).
