Jonadab

Who is Jonadab?

Jonadab is borne by two men in Scripture. One was a nephew of David and friend of Amnon, called a very subtil man, who schemed the plot by which Amnon violated Tamar (2 Samuel 13:3, 2 Samuel 13:5). The other was Jonadab son of Rechab, whose command that his descendants drink no wine the Rechabites still obeyed in Jeremiah's day, earning them a lasting blessing (Jeremiah 35:6, Jeremiah 35:19).
