Gilboa

What is Gilboa?

Gilboa is the mountain range where Saul gathered Israel to face the Philistines (1 Samuel 28:4) and where he and his sons fell in the battle that ended his reign (1 Samuel 31:8). In his lament, David cried out against these hills, 'Ye mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew, neither let there be rain, upon you' (2 Samuel 1:21).
