What is Cyrene?
Cyrene was a city in North Africa, in the parts of Libya (Acts 2:10). Simon of Cyrene was compelled to carry the cross of Jesus (Matthew 27:32), men of Cyrene helped bring the gospel to Antioch (Acts 11:20), and Lucius of Cyrene was among the prophets and teachers in the Antioch church (Acts 13:1).
