What is Caesarea?
Caesarea was a coastal city that served as the Roman administrative center of Judea, home to the centurion Cornelius (Acts 10:1) and later the port where Paul was held and tried before the governors Felix and Festus (Acts 25:1). The name also belongs to a separate inland town, Caesarea Philippi, near which Jesus asked his disciples who men said he was (Matthew 16:13).
