One of the threescore warriors was proud; but JAH caused his body to swell from his foot unto his head with a measure of brimstone, and he died in a plague.

And again, Korah, who builded a bed of iron, was proud of his might and his abundance; but JAH hid him in death.

And again, Nebuchadnezzar was proud, saying, 'There is none other king besides me, and I am the creator who causeth the sun to rise upon this world.' Thus he spake out of his arrogant abundance.

And JAH separated him from among men and sent him into the wilderness for seven years; and he made his dwelling with the fowls of heaven and the beasts of the field, until he knew that JAH was the one who had humbled him.

And when he knew Him in worship, He restored him unto his kingdom. Who is it that was not of the earth and was boldly proud before JAH, who humbled him?

What of those who overthrew His law and His commandment, and whom the earth did not swallow up?

And thou, O Zerubbabel, thou lovest to be proud before thy Creator; yet again, He hath power to destroy thee as He did them, and to bring thee down unto the grave on account of thine arrogance.

And again, after they entered Sheol, where there is gnashing of teeth and lamentation—that being the fulness of darkness—He hath power to bring thee down unto the deep pit of Gehenna, whence there are no departures for ever.

As for thee, thou art a man who shall die and be destroyed on the morrow, even as arrogant kings who were as thou, who departed from this world whilst yet living.

As for me, I say, 'Thou art but fallen ruins; thou art not JAH, for JAH is He who created the earth and heaven and thee.'

He abaseth the proud and honoureth those who are brought low. He giveth strength unto those who are weary.

He slayeth the whole and raiseth up those who lay upon the earth, who were dead and buried in the grave.

And He sendeth forth the bondservants free in life, from the dominion of iniquity.

O King Zerubbabel, wherefore dost thou boast in thy defiled idols that have no profit?

But JAH created the earth and heaven and the great seas. He created the moon and the sun, and He prepared the ages.

Man tilleth his field, and he ploweth until the eventide; and the stars of heaven abide steadfast by His word.

And He calleth all things in heaven. There is nought done without JAH knowing thereof.

He commanded the angels in heaven to serve Him and to praise His glorious name. And the angels are sent forth unto all who shall inherit life.

Raphael, who was a servant, was sent unto Tobit; and he delivered Tobiah from death in the country of Raguel.

And holy Michael was sent unto Gideon, that he might stir him up with treasure, that he might destroy the idolatrous ones. And he was sent unto the prophet Moses at the time when he caused Israel to cross the Red Sea.

As JAH alone hath spoken, He led them. There was no strange idol with them.

And He brought them forth unto the crops of the earth.

And He fed them the grain of His planting. As He wholly loved them, He cherished them, feeding them honey that was hardened as a rock.

And that thou mightest wholly keep His people in that which is due, and that thou mightest do the will of JAH who humbled thee, He crowned thee, giving thee dominion over the four kingdoms.

For He hath crowned thee, making thee more exalted than all; and thy Creator hath wholly crowned thee that thou mightest love JAH.

And it is meet that thou shouldest love thy Creator JAH, even as He loved thee, and as He entrusted thee over all the people. And thou, do the will of JAH, that thy days may be multiplied in this world, and that He may abide with thee in His keeping.

And do the will of JAH, that He may stand for thee as a guardian over thine enemies, and that He may set thee upon thy throne, and that He may shelter thee under the wing of His protection.

As for thee, if thou knowest not, JAH chose thee and crowned thee over Israel, even as He chose Saul from among the children of Israel when he kept his father's asses. And He crowned him over his kindreds in Israel, and he sat with Israel upon his throne.

And He gave him a lofty portion, separating him from his kindreds. JAH crowned thee over His people. Henceforth, watch over and keep His people.

As JAH hath appointed thee over them, that thou mightest slay and mightest save, keep them from evil, rewarding those who do good and those who do evil upon the good," He spake unto him.

"And as JAH hath appointed thee over all that thou mightest do His will, whether in chastisement or in deliverance, render unto them according to their works, unto those who do good and unto those who do evil.

For thou art a servant of JAH, who ruleth all things in heaven; and thou, do the will of JAH, that He may do thy will for thee, in all that thou hast purposed and in all that thou hast besought whilst thou didst entreat before Him.

There is none who ruleth Him, but He ruleth all.

There is none who appointed Him, but He appointeth all.

There is none who dismisseth Him, but He dismisseth all.

There is none who reproacheth Him, but He reproacheth all.

There is none who maketh Him diligent, but He maketh all diligent. As the dominion of heaven and earth is His, there is none who escapeth from His dominion. All are revealed before Him, yet there is none hidden from His face.

He seeth all, but there is none who seeth Him. He heareth the supplication of him who prayeth unto Him, saying, 'Deliver me'; for He hath created man in His likeness, and He receiveth his plea.

As He is a King who liveth unto eternity, He sustaineth all from His unchanging nature."
