What Does God Say About Insecurity?
Insecurity has a script, and you know it by heart: someone else is more qualified, you will be found out, you should probably stay quiet. The strange comfort of Scripture is how many of God's people said those exact lines to His face. Moses argued about his speech. Gideon pointed to his family. Jeremiah pleaded that he was too young. God never disputed the facts. He answered with Himself, and these verses trace that answer.
6 Scriptures for Insecurity?
“And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.”
Exodus 4:10-12
Moses lists his deficits to the God of the burning bush: slow of speech, slow of tongue, never eloquent. God's reply is a question. Who made man's mouth? He does not tell Moses he is secretly a great speaker. He tells him the mouth's Maker is coming along.

Judges 6:15-16
Gideon is threshing wheat in hiding when this conversation happens. His objection is genealogical: poorest family in Manasseh, least in his father's house. God does not argue the ranking. Surely I will be with thee. One presence outweighs the whole family tree.

Jeremiah 1:6-8
Jeremiah says I cannot speak, and God gives a direct order in response: say not, I am a child. Some self-assessments God simply forbids. Not because they feel bad, but because they leave Him out of the calculation. Then He names the real issue: be not afraid of their faces. He knew exactly which fear it was.

Isaiah 41:10
Count the first person promises. I am with thee, I am thy God, I will strengthen, I will help, I will uphold. Five commitments against two commands: fear not, be not dismayed. The math runs in your favor. God carries more of this verse than you do.

2 Corinthians 12:9
Paul asked three times for the weakness to be removed. God said no and explained why: my strength is made perfect in weakness. The thing you keep trying to hide may be the exact place His power intends to rest. Paul stopped hiding his. He started glorying in it.

Philippians 1:6
Paul's confidence is placed somewhere sturdier than your consistency. He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it. God finishes what He starts. Your growth is His project, and He has never once abandoned one.

God, I keep counting my deficits like Moses at the bush: slow, unqualified, not enough. You never answered him with flattery, and I am not asking for any. I am asking for what You gave him, Your presence, Your words in my mouth, Your strength resting on my weakest place. Quiet the script that says I will be found out. You began this work in me. Finish it. Amen.
