What is Moriah?
Moriah is the land to which God sent Abraham to offer Isaac as a burnt offering on one of its mountains (Genesis 22:2). 2 Chronicles 3:1 identifies mount Moriah in Jerusalem as the place where Solomon built the temple of the LORD, on the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.
