What is Meholathite?
Meholathite is the designation given to Adriel, the man to whom Saul's daughter Merab was given in marriage instead of to David (1 Samuel 18:19). Adriel the Meholathite is again identified as the son of Barzillai, in the account of the five sons brought up for Adriel who were later handed over to the Gibeonites (2 Samuel 21:8).
