Who is Issachar?
Issachar is the ninth son of Jacob, born to Leah, who named him saying God had given her her hire for giving her maid to her husband (Genesis 30:18, Genesis 35:23). His descendants became one of the twelve tribes of Israel, receiving an inheritance of land as recorded in Joshua 19:17.
