Havilah
HAV-ih-lah
What is Havilah?
Havilah is a region named in the Bible, first as the land encircled by the river Pison flowing out of Eden, where there is gold, bdellium, and the onyx stone (Genesis 2:11). Havilah is also listed as a son of Cush and, separately, a son of Joktan among the descendants in the table of nations (Genesis 10:7, Genesis 10:29), and it marks a boundary of Ishmael's descendants and of the Amalekites, who dwelt from Havilah toward Shur (Genesis 25:18).
