Gedor

GAY-dor

What is Gedor?

Gedor was a town of Judah, listed with Halhul and Bethzur among the cities of Judah's inheritance (Joshua 15:58). The genealogies of Judah call Penuel the father of Gedor and Jered the father of Gedor (1 Chronicles 4:4, 1 Chronicles 4:18), and men named there as princes in their families went to the entrance of Gedor to seek pasture for their flocks (1 Chronicles 4:39). Gedor is also the name of a son of the father of Gibeon (1 Chronicles 8:31).
