Who is Gaius?
Gaius is the name of several men in the New Testament. One was a Macedonian companion of Paul seized in the Ephesus riot (Acts 19:29); another was Gaius of Derbe who traveled with Paul (Acts 20:4). Paul baptized a Gaius at Corinth (1 Corinthians 1:14) and calls Gaius his host and host to the whole church (Romans 16:23). The letter of 3 John is addressed to a beloved Gaius (3 John 1:1).
