Who was Eldad?

Eldad was among the men written down for the seventy elders of Israel in the wilderness. When the LORD put His spirit on the elders, Eldad and Medad remained in the camp rather than going out to the tabernacle, and the spirit rested on them there so that they prophesied in the camp (Numbers 11:26). A young man ran and reported it to Moses (Numbers 11:27).
