The Lord hath it in His power to ransom Adam, and He shall put thee, O Devil, to shame. He will save a sheep from the mouth of the wolf—that is, Adam from the Devil.

Howbeit, thou shalt go toward Gehenna, taking with thee the people over whom thou didst rule.

Those who kept the Law of their Creator, the Lord, shall be joyful with Him. He hid them from evil works that He might make them His own treasure, and that they might praise Him with the honoured Angels who brake not the Law of their Creator as thou didst.

But the Lord—who chose thee and gave thee more than all the Angels who are as thou art, that thou mightest praise Him with His servant Angels—withheld a lofty throne from thee because of thy pride.

Instead, thou becamest infamous and wast called one who loveth false godhood, and thy hosts were called devils.

But those who loved the Lord shall be His kindred, even as the honoured Angels; and the Seraphim and Cherubim who praise Him stretch forth their wings and praise Him without ceasing.

But in thy pride and thy slothfulness, thou didst destroy thine own praise, though thou wast appointed to praise Him always with thy host and thy kindred who were created in thy likeness.

Lest the praise of the Lord—who created thee as a tenth tribe—be diminished when thou didst forget to praise Him; it seemed unto thee that it was not possible for Him to create another creation as thou art. And lest His praise be diminished when thou wast separated from the unity of thy brethren, He created Adam in thy stead.

But in the pride of thy understanding, thou didst neglect the praise of the Lord who created thee; therefore He was wroth with thee. He made thee a reproach, He bound thee, and He cast thee out unto Gehenna together with thy hosts.

He took soil from the Earth with His glorified Hands; and adding fire, water, and wind, He created Adam in His own Likeness and Features.

He set him over all the creation which He had made by His dominion, that His praise might be fulfilled by the praise thou shouldest have given Him. And the praise of Adam became one with the praise of the Angels, and their praise was equal.

But in the stubbornness of thy understanding and thy pride, thou wast humbled from thy rank; and having departed from the Dominion of Him who created thee, thou didst destroy thyself.

Know that His praise was not diminished; for the Lord created Adam, who praised Him in the counsel of his understanding, that the praise of His Divinity might not be lessened.

For He knoweth all things before they are done. He knew thee before He created thee—that thou wouldest cast down His Commandment. As there was a hidden counsel with Him before He created the world, when thou didst deny Him, He created His servant Adam in His own Features and Likeness.

Even as Solomon spake, saying: Before the hills were created, and before the world was set in order, and before the winds that are the foundations of the Earth were created...

...and before He established the foundations of the hills and mountains, and before the work of this world was set, and before the light of the moon and the sun shone, or the courses of the stars were known...

...and before the daylight and the night did alternate, and before the sea was bounded by the sand—before any of the created things were made...

...and before all that is seen this day was seen, or any names called this day were named—I, Solomon, was created. Angels who are as thou art, and His servant Adam, were already in the Mind of the Lord.

He created Adam that His glorified Name might be praised when thou didst rebel, and that He might be praised by His humble servant Adam—who was created from the Earth—when thou wast lifted up in pride.

For being in Heaven, the Lord heareth the cry of the poor, and He loveth the praise of the humble.

He loveth to save those in whom He dwelleth who fear Him; yet as He loveth not the strength of horses, and as He favoureth not the bosom of a concubine, the Lord shall set at nought the deeds of the proud.

And they shall weep whilst they cry out because of the iniquities they committed.

Thou, O Devil, didst fail to make supplication in repentance.

But Adam, who was created from the Earth, returned in repentance, weeping bitterly before the Lord because of his iniquity.

But in thy stubbornness and the pride of thy heart, thou knewest not the work of Love, neither didst thou know repentance. Thou didst fail to make supplication before thy Creator, the Lord, in repentance, in mourning, and in sorrow.

But Adam, who is ashes and earth, returned unto repentance in mourning and in sorrow, and he returned unto humility and the work of Love.

But thou didst not humble thy understanding nor thyself before the Lord who created thee.

As for Adam, he humbled himself and made supplication concerning the iniquity he committed; he was not proud.

As thou hast altogether wrought transgression, it had its beginning in thee; yet it was not Adam who brought forth that error. In thy pride thou didst take him with thee toward thy destruction.

Before He created you both, He knew ye were transgressors; and knowing your works, He knew that what was done came from the pride of thy heart.

But He restored Adam—who was without pride or malice—through repentance, mourning, and sorrow.

For a man who doeth wrong and maketh not supplication in repentance hath multiplied his iniquity more than his former transgressions. In the pride of thy heart thou didst fail to make supplication in repentance; but a man who pleadeth and weepeth, entering repentance before his Creator, the Lord...

he hath truly repented. He hath found the work by which he shall be saved, that he might fear the Heart of his Lord. He made supplication before his Creator with bowing and much repentance; and because of that former tribulation, the Lord shall lighten his iniquity that He be not wroth with His servant, and He will forgive his former transgressions.

If he return not unto his former iniquity and continue in this way, this is perfect repentance. Adam forgot not to think upon his Creator nor to beseech Him in repentance.

And thou, O Devil—make supplication in repentance toward thy Creator, and do not wrong them, for they are flesh and blood; for the Lord who created them knoweth their weakness. Do not wrong the people whom He created by His dominion.

And after their souls are separated from their flesh, their flesh shall be dust until the day the Lord chooseth.
