A kernel of wheat shall not grow nor bear fruit unless it be first broken down. But if a kernel of wheat is broken down, it sendeth roots into the Earth, putteth forth leaves, bringeth forth buds, and beareth fruit.
Thou knowest that a single kernel of wheat becometh many kernels.
Likewise, this kernel groweth by rising up from water, wind, and the dew of the Earth. Wheat cannot bear fruit without the Sun, and the Sun serveth in the stead of fire.
The wind serveth in the stead of a soul—for wheat cannot bear fruit without wind—and the water giveth the Earth drink to satisfy it.
After the Earth, which is ashes, drinketh the water, it sendeth forth roots, and its stalks grow tall. It beareth fruit according as the LORD blessed it.
A kernel of wheat is a likeness of Adam, in whom dwelleth a living soul created by the LORD. Likewise, a vine drinketh water and putteth forth roots.
The Dew of Pardon from the LORD giveth drink unto the long tendrils of the vines, sending water upward unto the leaves. It buddeth from the heat of the Sun, and by the Will of the LORD, it beareth fruit.
It bringeth forth a sweet savour that maketh the heart glad. When eaten, it satisfieth as water that quencheth thirst or as grain that satisfieth hunger. When it is pressed, it becometh the blood of the cluster.
As it is spoken in the Psalms: "Wine maketh glad the heart of man." When they drink thereof, it maketh the heart joyful. When a man openeth his mouth and drinketh, he is filled, and the blood floweth toward his heart.
Because the drunkenness of the grape can lead a man astray and deprive him of his understanding, it maketh pits and precipices to seem as broad meadows; he perceiveth not the obstacles or thorns against his feet and hands.
The LORD wrought this with the fruit and the vine that His Name might be praised by those who believe the dead shall rise and who do His Will.
In the Kingdom of Heaven, He shall make those who believe in the Resurrection to be joyful.
