Ye people who believe not the dead shall rise—how great is your error! When ye are taken unto the place ye know not, ye shall feel vain regrets. Because ye believed not in the rising wherein the dead arise united in soul and flesh, and when ye are cast into Gehenna—
whether ye wrought good or evil, ye shall receive your reward according to your work. For ye led astray the hearts of your fellows by saying, "We know that the dead, who are dust and ashes, shall not rise."
Forasmuch as their death hath no departing, and forasmuch as they have no might against the chastisement that shall come upon them, and forasmuch as they were not steadfast in their tribulation—for this cause they led astray their fellows. They shall all stand in the Square of the LORD.
When He is wroth with them in His fury, they shall be smitten with great fear. Because they acknowledged not that they were created from nothingness unto life, and because they spake of the Law of the LORD without understanding, they shall all be judged because they wrought evil.
They know not the Gehenna unto which they shall go. Because they were wroth and crooked in their work, they taught their fellows according to their own thirsting understanding. They are evil ones who teach a crooked thing, saying, "There is no Resurrection of the dead."
At that time, they shall know that the dead shall rise, and they shall know they are judged because they believed not in the Resurrection that is for all the children of Adam.
For we are all children of Adam, and we have died because of Adam; the judgment of death hath found us all from the LORD because of the transgression of our father, Adam.
We shall arise again with our father Adam to receive our travail according to the works we wrought; for the world hath been ruled by death because of the ignorance of Adam.
Because Adam transgressed the Commandment of the LORD, we received travail. Our flesh melted as wax in the grave, and our bodies perished.
The Earth drank our marrow; we perished, and our comeliness perished in the grave. Our flesh was buried, and our fair words were buried in the earth.
Worms came forth from our shining eyes; our features perished in the grave and became dust.
Where is the beauty of the youth, who were comely, whose stature was goodly, and whose words were prosperous? Where is the strength of the mighty men?
Where are the hosts of the kings, or the dominion of the nobles? Where is the adorning of horses, the silver and gold, and the shining weapons? Did they not all perish?
Where is the sweet drink of the vine, or the savour of meat?
