Bible Verses for Emotional Healing
Emotional wounds are real wounds. The Bible treats them with the same seriousness as physical ones. Brokenhearted is not a poetic phrase in Scripture. It is a thing God specifically says He heals. Slowly. Tenderly. One wound at a time. These verses are for the hurt you have been carrying that most people around you do not see. Read them slowly. Healing is not fast but it is real.
6 Scriptures for Emotional Healing
“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”
Psalm 147:3
The image is tender. Binding up wounds. A hand wrapping gauze. Steady. Patient. No rushing. God does not treat an emotional wound with impatience. He tends it the way a careful physician tends a deep cut. One wrap at a time.

Isaiah 61:1-3
Jesus quoted this as His mission. Beauty for ashes. Oil of joy for mourning. A garment of praise for heaviness. Notice the trades. Ashes do not become a little less ashy. They are traded out for beauty. That is how He heals. Not gradual improvement. Exchange.

God is not only healing what was broken. He is replacing what hardened over the years. Stony hearts get soft again under His hand. Not by force. By the slow work of a new spirit that moves in and makes room.

Nigh means near. Not examining the wound from above. Near. The way a parent is near a child's scraped knee. Not fixing from a distance. Present. That kind of nearness is where healing of the heart actually happens.

Jeremiah 30:17
The word restore is beautiful in the Hebrew. It carries the sense of bringing back what was lost. The healthy version of you that was there before the wound is not gone. God restores. He heals. Not always by erasing the scar, but by making sure the wound does not run you anymore.

Philippians 4:7
Peace as a guard on the healing wound. Not just a feeling. A protection, keeping out the things that would reopen what is mending. Paul says the peace passes understanding, which means it works even when the injury does not logically add up to calm.

God, I have been carrying a wound for a long time. I am tired of pretending it is not there. You said You heal the brokenhearted. I am giving You the pieces tonight, all of them. Bind them up at whatever pace You know is right. Trade the ashes for beauty, the heaviness for a garment of praise. Soften what has gone hard in me. Restore what has been worn down. I trust You with this. Amen.
