What Does God Say About Confusion?
Confusion wears you out in a way few things do. You can fight an enemy you can see. You cannot fight fog. Decisions stack up, every option looks equally wrong, and prayer starts to feel like dialing a number that will not connect. Scripture speaks directly into that fog, and its first word is a relief: God is not the author of it. He gives light, direction, and wisdom to anyone who asks. These verses are where to start asking.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
Notice what this verse does not promise. It does not promise you will understand. It promises direction while you do not understand, which is a different and better thing. Your own understanding is the thing that just ran out. Trust is what you lean on when it does.

This is worth saying plainly: the confusion is not coming from God. He is not scrambling the signal to test you. Where He is writing, peace is the watermark. If your head is chaos tonight, that chaos is something He wants to quiet, not something He sent.

James writes to people in the middle of trials who do not know what to do next. His instruction is one step: ask. Then he adds the detail that matters most, that God gives liberally and upbraideth not. He will not mock the question or make you feel stupid for asking twice. Ask tonight, plainly, out loud.

A lamp unto my feet is not a floodlight over the whole road. It lights the next step, and only the next step. That is how God tends to guide, one verse and one obedience at a time. You do not need the whole map tonight. You need the next step, and there is light for that.

Some confusion is not a problem to solve. It is the honest gap between His mind and yours, as wide as the heavens are high. You are not failing to understand because you are foolish. You are finite and He is not, and He can be trusted in the difference.

I will guide thee with mine eye. That is close guidance, the kind that requires the guide to be watching you. God is not shouting directions from a distance. He is near enough to see exactly where you are standing, and He says the instructing is His job. Yours is to stay close enough to watch.
