Who is Tamar?
Tamar is the name of more than one woman in Scripture. In Genesis she was the wife of Judah's firstborn Er, and later, as his widowed daughter-in-law, she bore Judah the twins Pharez and Zarah (Genesis 38:6, Ruth 4:12). A different Tamar was the beautiful daughter of King David and sister of Absalom, wronged by her half-brother Amnon (2 Samuel 13:1).
