Who is Salmon?
Salmon was the son of Nahshon and the father of Boaz, standing in the ancestral line of David (Ruth 4:20, Ruth 4:21). Matthew's genealogy places him in the lineage of Jesus and names his wife as Rahab (Matthew 1:5). The same name also marks a hill, called Salmon, in Psalms 68:14.
