Who is Salmanasar?
Salmanasar is an alternate spelling of Shalmaneser, king of Assyria. In the King James Bible he appears as Shalmaneser, who came up against Hoshea king of Israel and made him a servant paying tribute (2 Kings 17:3), then besieged Samaria (2 Kings 18:9).
