Who was Remaliah?

Remaliah was the father of Pekah, the captain who conspired against the king of Israel, killed him, and reigned in his place (2 Kings 15:25). His son Pekah joined Rezin king of Syria to war against Jerusalem (2 Kings 16:5). Isaiah scornfully calls Pekah simply 'the son of Remaliah' (Isaiah 7:4).
