Who is Nabal?

Nabal was a very rich but harsh and evil man of Maon whose possessions were in Carmel, and the husband of Abigail (1 Samuel 25:3). After he churlishly refused David's men, the LORD struck him and he died (1 Samuel 25:38), and David then took Abigail as his wife.
