Who is Mattaniah?

Mattaniah was the birth name of Judah's last king: the king of Babylon placed him on the throne and renamed him Zedekiah (2 Kings 24:17). Several Levites also bore the name, including an Asaphite singer who led the thanksgiving in prayer after the exile (Nehemiah 11:17) and a son of Heman appointed to the temple music (1 Chronicles 25:4).
