Mahanaim

What is Mahanaim?

Mahanaim was a place east of the Jordan that Jacob named after the angels of God met him there, saying, This is God's host (Genesis 32:2). It later became a Levitical city in the tribe of Gad (Joshua 21:38), the capital where Abner made Ish-bosheth king (2 Samuel 2:8), and David's refuge during Absalom's revolt (2 Samuel 17:24).
