What is Hinnom?
The Valley of the son of Hinnom was a ravine on the southern edge of Jerusalem, forming part of the boundary of Judah (Joshua 15:8). It became notorious as the place where kings of Judah burned their children in the fire to Molech at Topheth, which the LORD condemned and vowed to rename the valley of slaughter (2 Chronicles 28:3, Jeremiah 7:31).
