What is Euphrates?
The Euphrates is one of the four rivers flowing out of Eden and is called simply 'the great river' throughout Scripture (Genesis 2:14, Deuteronomy 1:7). It marks the far boundary of the land God promised to Abram's descendants (Genesis 15:18) and reappears in Revelation, where four bound angels are loosed from it and its waters are dried up before the kings of the east (Revelation 9:14, Revelation 16:12).
