What is Ephesus?

Ephesus was a major city in the Roman province of Asia, known for its worship of the goddess Diana, where Paul preached and ministered for a long season (Acts 18:19, Acts 19:1, Acts 19:35). It later received the epistle to the Ephesians and is the first of the seven churches addressed in Revelation (Revelation 2:1).
