Who is Beriah?
Beriah is the name of several men in Israel's genealogies. He appears first as a son of Asher and the father of Heber and Malchiel (Genesis 46:17), whose descendants were counted as the family of the Beriites (Numbers 26:44). Another Beriah was born to Ephraim and named for the trouble that struck the house, 'because it went evil with his house' (1 Chronicles 7:23), and a Beriah in the line of Benjamin was head of the fathers of the inhabitants of Aijalon (1 Chronicles 8:13).
