Who is Benaiah?
Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was one of King David's mighty men, a warrior from Kabzeel who slew two lionlike men of Moab and killed a lion in a pit on a snowy day (2 Samuel 23:20). He commanded the Cherethites and Pelethites under David (2 Samuel 8:18) and later became commander over Solomon's whole army (1 Kings 2:35).
