Bakbukiah
BAK-buh-KYE-uh
Who is Bakbukiah?
Bakbukiah was a Levite who dwelt in Jerusalem in the days of Nehemiah, ranked 'the second among his brethren' behind Mattaniah, who was principal to begin the thanksgiving in prayer (Nehemiah 11:17). He and Unni were over against them in the watches (Nehemiah 12:9), and he is named with Mattaniah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, and Akkub as porters keeping the ward at the thresholds of the gates (Nehemiah 12:25).
