What is Aijalon?
Aijalon was a town given with its suburbs to the Levites (Joshua 21:24). Israel pursued the Philistines from Michmash as far as Aijalon (1 Samuel 14:31), and it is listed among the fenced cities in Judah and Benjamin (2 Chronicles 11:10). A separate Aijalon in the country of Zebulun was the burial place of Elon the Zebulonite (Judges 12:12).
