What is Ahohite?
Ahohite is a family designation carried by several of David's warriors. Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite was one of the three mighty men, and stood with David when they defied the Philistines gathered together to battle (2 Samuel 23:9, 1 Chronicles 11:12). Zalmon the Ahohite and Ilai the Ahohite are also numbered among David's mighty men (2 Samuel 23:28, 1 Chronicles 11:29), and Dodai an Ahohite held the course of the second month (1 Chronicles 27:4).
