Who is Ahikam?
Ahikam the son of Shaphan was one of the men King Josiah commanded after the book of the law was found, and he went with them to Huldah the prophetess (2 Kings 22:12, 2 Kings 22:14). His hand was with Jeremiah, so that the people would not put him to death (Jeremiah 26:24). His son Gedaliah was made ruler over the people that remained in the land of Judah, and was struck down at Mizpah by Ishmael the son of Nethaniah (2 Kings 25:22, Jeremiah 41:1, Jeremiah 41:2).
