¹For the blood of the soul given by the Lord shall dwell in them as it did of old. If thou believest not that the dead shall arise, behold how the creatures arise in the season of rain without being born of a mother or a father.

²He commanded them of old by His Word to die.

³Their flesh being destroyed and decayed, yet made new again, they shall arise as He desireth.

⁴Again, when the rain falleth and satisfieth the Earth, they shall arise even as they were created of old.

⁵Even as those that are ever-living with a soul of blood, and those that dwell in this world, and those whom the Water bringeth forth have been created—He having said, Let them be created—as the dominion of the Lord dwelleth upon the Water, she giveth them a soul of blood by His dominion and His Word.

⁶Since they are created by His dominion and His Word without a father or a mother—thou who art blind in understanding, who sayest, The dead shall not arise—if thou hast knowledge or Wisdom, how canst thou say the dead shall not arise by the Word of their Creator, the Lord?

⁷As the dead—who were ashes and dust in the sepulchre—shall arise by the Word of the Lord, as for thee: enter into repentance and return unto thy faith.

⁸Even as His Word spake of old, they shall arise by the Dew of Pardon found from the Lord. That Word shall turn the whole world and arouse the dead as He desireth.

⁹Know that thou shalt arise and stand before Him; let it not seem unto thee in the hardness of thy mind that thou shalt remain in the grave.

¹⁰It is not so. Thou shalt arise and receive affliction according to the measure of the work thou didst, whether it were good or evil. Think not that thou shalt remain there, for this is the Day when they shall receive their recompense.

¹¹In the time of the Resurrection, thou shalt receive affliction for all the iniquities thou hast committed. Thou shalt render account for the transgressions written from thy youth until that time; thou shalt have no defence or pretext for thy sins, unlike the manner in which thou dost deny thy transgressions in the work of this world.

¹²Even as thou makest thy false word seem as truth before thee, and makest the lies thou spakest seem as truth—thou shalt have no such pretext there.

¹³Because thy soul knoweth all the evil work thou didst, and because she shall reveal it before her Creator, the Lord—as the Word of the Lord shall come upon thee and speak against thee—thou hast no cause to offer a defence.

¹⁴Thou shalt be put to shame there because of the iniquities thou hast committed. Thou mightest wish to be among those commended for their goodly works; therefore, lest thou be shamed before men and Angels on the Day of Judgement, make haste to enter into repentance in this world before thou dost arrive thither.

¹⁵Those who praise the Lord with the Angels shall receive their reward from their Creator without shame, and they shall be joyful in the Kingdom of Heaven. Howbeit, except thou didst good works whilst thou wast in the flesh, thou hast no portion with the righteous.

¹⁶Since thou wast not prepared whilst thou hadst knowledge and whilst thou hadst this world to enter repentance, there shall be vain regret upon thee—and most of all because thou didst not give a morsel unto the hungry when thou hadst substance.

¹⁷And because thou didst not clothe the naked when thou hadst garments, and thou didst not deliver the oppressed when thou hadst dominion.

¹⁸Because thou didst not instruct the transgressor when thou hadst knowledge, that he might return and repent, and that the Lord might forgive him the iniquities he formerly committed in ignorance. And because thou didst not contend against the demons who strive with thee when thou hadst the Power to prevail.

¹⁹And because thou didst not fast nor pray when thou hadst the strength to weaken the power of youth over the flesh, and to subject thyself unto Righteousness, which sheweth not partiality unto the flesh...

²⁰which favoureth not the pleasures of this world in fine drink and sweet food, nor adornment in fine raiment, silver, and gold...

²¹and as thou didst not fast nor pray when thou hadst the strength to subject thyself unto Righteousness—which adorneth not itself in honoured jewels of India, as emeralds and topazes—there shall be vain regret upon thee. This is not the proper adornment for a man.

²²The true adornment of a man is purity, wisdom, and knowledge—loving one another as is right, without envy, jealousy, doubt, or strife. It is loving thy fellow as thyself...

²³and doing not evil unto him that did evil unto thee. This is true love, that thou mightest enter the Kingdom of Heaven given unto those who endured tribulation. He shall then give unto thee the honoured Kingdom and thy reward for having hope in the Kingdom of Heaven at the time of the Resurrection, together with those honoured in knowledge and wisdom.

²⁴Say not, After we die we shall not arise, for the Devil cutteth off the hope of those who speak and think thus, that they might not be saved at the Resurrection. They shall know that affliction is upon them when the Advent cometh. In the Resurrection, those who committed iniquity in ignorance shall be sore grieved when their transgressions are brought back unto them, for they believed not that they should arise on that Day.

²⁵For this cause they shall be reproved according to the measure of the evil work they did in this world, and they shall behold the Resurrection which they denied, by which they shall arise together in the flesh.

²⁶They shall weep at that time because they did not good works. It would have been better for them to weep in this world, if it were possible, than to be among those who weep in Gehenna.

²⁷If we weep not in this world of our own choosing, demons shall make us to weep against our will in Gehenna. If we enter not into repentance in this world, we do prepare worthless and vain lamentation and mourning in Gehenna.

²⁸Prepare ye good works, that ye might pass from death unto Life, and go from this passing world toward the Kingdom of Heaven, to behold the Light of the Kingdom that surpasseth all light in this world.

²⁹Refuse ye the pleasures of this world, that ye might be joyful beyond measure in the Kingdom of Heaven—in joys that are not fulfilled from this day until eternity, together with those who believe the dead shall arise.
