Bible Verses When You Want to Give Up
If you are at the point of wanting to give up, please know two things. First, the Bible has specific words for exactly this moment, and they do not include a lecture. You are not alone, and you are not meant to carry this alone. These verses are for the deep tired, the kind Elijah knew when he sat under the juniper tree and asked God to take his life. God did not scold him. He fed him and let him rest.
6 Scriptures for Bible Verses When You Want to Give Up
“But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers. And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.”
1 Kings 19:4-7
Elijah had just performed the most dramatic miracle of his ministry. And days later he was suicidal, sitting under a tree asking to die. God did not rebuke him. He sent an angel with food. Then let him sleep. Then food again. God's first response to someone at the end of their rope is not a sermon. It is care. If you are here tonight, He is here with you.

Galatians 6:9
Paul names the weariness directly. He does not pretend. But he also names the promise. In due season. The timing is not yours, and it is not yet. Do not faint now. Something you cannot see is being prepared for the other side of this exhaustion.

Paul says the renewal is daily. Not all at once. Day by day. Even while the outer is worn down. Something in the inner is being rebuilt right now, tonight, without your effort. You do not have to make it happen. You just have to not quit before it finishes.

Philippians 1:6
God finishes what He starts. The work He has begun in you is not abandoned because you are tired. He does not walk away mid-project. Whatever He has been building in you is still being built, even in the weeks when it feels like nothing is happening.

Jesus endured the cross by looking at the joy on the other side. He did not deny the pain. He saw past it. You are allowed to not feel the joy yet. You are invited to trust it is there, set for you, waiting for you to reach it. One more step. One more night. You are closer than you think.

Nigh means near. In this moment, not later. He is closer tonight than He would be if you were doing fine. The proximity is the point. You are not being watched from far away. You are being held up close.

I am trusting You with one more night. Keep me here. Amen.
