Who is Zephaniah?
Zephaniah is the name of several men in Scripture. Most notably it belongs to the prophet, son of Cushi, to whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Josiah king of Judah (Zephaniah 1:1). It is also the name of Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, a priest in the days of king Zedekiah, whom the king sent to the prophet Jeremiah (Jeremiah 21:1); he was among those taken by the captain of the guard when Jerusalem fell (2 Kings 25:18).
