Zelophehad

zehl-AHF-eh-hehd

Who is Zelophehad?

Zelophehad was a man of the tribe of Manasseh, son of Hepher, who died in the wilderness leaving no sons but five daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah (Numbers 26:33). When his daughters asked to inherit their father's portion, the LORD ruled in their favor: they were given a possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren (Numbers 27:7).
