Where was Zaretan?

Zaretan is named only to locate somewhere else: the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan (Joshua 3:16). In that same verse the waters that came down toward the salt sea failed and were cut off, and the people passed over right against Jericho. This spelling occurs only there in the King James text, and nothing further is said of the place.
