What is Ulai?
Ulai is the river, or canal, in the province of Elam beside which Daniel stood in his vision at Shushan (Daniel 8:2). It was between the banks of the Ulai that Daniel heard the voice calling to Gabriel to explain the vision (Daniel 8:16).
