What is Shunem?
Shunem was a town in the territory of the tribe of Issachar (Joshua 19:18). The Philistines camped there before Saul's final battle (1 Samuel 28:4), and it was home to the wealthy woman who gave the prophet Elisha a room and meals whenever he passed through (2 Kings 4:8).
