SHIF-rah
Who is Shiphrah?
Shiphrah was one of the two Hebrew midwives (with Puah) whom the king of Egypt commanded to kill every Hebrew baby boy at birth (Exodus 1:15). She and Puah feared God and refused, sparing the male children.
