Who is Shamgar?
Shamgar the son of Anath was a deliverer of Israel who struck down six hundred Philistines with an ox goad (Judges 3:31). The Song of Deborah recalls his days as a time when the highways were unoccupied and travelers kept to byways (Judges 5:6).
